My Story

Many Moons ago, I was a young pupil set a rather daunting project. I had been asked to create a family tree. For a few of my more precocious counterparts, this was as simple as joining the dots in a puzzle book. Within a matter of days, they were able to produce an exquisite homework. Parents, grandparents and ancestors reaching back through the mists of time were all in evidence.

While these select classmates donned a proud smile, I was left green with envy.

My family tree resembled the proverbial Swiss cheese. In an age where there was no World Wide Web and the Cold War prevented meaningful research, I called upon my grandmother for something substantive. But I soon discovered that certain avenues were off limits and the subject of the past was taboo. Suffice to say that my completed work scored very badly.

That frustrating experience is one that I carried with me into adulthood. By its very essence, genealogy is a topic that piques our curiousity.

Who were my predecessors,

Where did they come from?

What was their livelihood?

What Contribution did they make to society?

These questions and a great many more are often raised. Life Cycle Research aims to delve deep and provide definitive answers.
